Steve,
The book is great, I have caught up the podcasts in 2 days and am now left waiting for the book to get here to finish the story. I caught you on skepticality and went to your site to check out the book and what can I say it's wonderful to find a book that doesn't push one side versus the other but really makes you think and challenge yourself to think for yourself.

Thanks, Bob. Indeed it really is about the dialogue, and how we can learn to share the planet with those whom we disagree. While certainly not entirely balanced--due to the fact that people have traditionally not heard much about early Christian history/scholarship--it certainly was my goal to articulate all sides fairly. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. _________________ Steve Gibson,

I am just up to chapter 28 now and have already started compiling a list of more reading from the footnotes. I try to keep dialouge with all sides, my sister is my sounding board from the "other" side, we were raised Catholic and she is now Southern Baptist she was quite shocked to say the least when I proclaimed my disbelief, Which was actually triggered by 13 year old, now 14 year old daughter. She came home one day and just spilled it out " Mom , Dad this God stuff really doesn't make any sense at all" I'm proud she has the strength to express her free thinking as she does amongst her friends. (many of whom are very devout Christians). She has even gotten into discussions with a few friends fathers that are the church pastors. Well I'm going to read another chapter before bed. Thanks again for a great and engaging story |
