It would be interesting to hear some expert opinion on brand loyalty. My suspicion is that at the heart of most brand loyalty is a healthy dose of good-old-fashioned cognitive dissonance. ie: "My favourite make of pick-up must be good because I wouldn't always buy that same brand if it wasn't good."

I'll see if I can find anything out there.....

...and I was thinking of a parellel topic: if marketers made only factual statements (picture "Liar Liar") nothing would ever get sold!
